Netherlands 25 Cents (German Occupation) 1941 to 1943
What a neat coin design. The sailing ship and waves are really cool. The occupying Germans minted these coins in zinc. Zinc coins do not wear well and always look crummy. Most of them you see are dark and blotchy. If you can find one in excellent condition, you have a valuable gem.
Catalog values go up substantially with overall eye appeal. Here are some approximate values for dates 1941 and 1942:
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $1
well preserved: $4
fully uncirculated: $25
Coins dated 1943 are more rare and are worth about three times these values.
