Canada New Brunswick Half Cent and Cent 1861 to 1864

The Canadian Province of New Brunswick issued its own coinage through the formation of the Confederation in 1867. The half cent and cent were minted in copper, as shown. Half cent coins are quite rare, but there are still a few cents to fill collector demand. Some typical values are:

HALF CENT
worn: $125 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $225
well preserved: $350
fully uncirculated: $650

CENT
worn: $4 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $20
well preserved: $60
fully uncirculated: $220

These values apply to all dates in the series. Read our Important Terminology page to properly interpret these values.

Requester description: 1861 It's a 'one cent' from New Brunswick (I suppose Canada). On one side there is Victoria's head, on the other side a crown on the center, under it the date, above 'one cent', below 'New Brunswick'.
