Turkey 1 and 2 Kurush 1876 to 1908
I like the eye appeal on this old Turkish kurush. It's worn, that's for sure. But the fields have taken a dark color and the devices show good contrast. I'd pay a small premium to add this nice-looking coin to my collection. Some collectors go only for uncirculated, blast-white specimens. Not me. This one looks great. And those guys pay a lot more than I do!
Now, down to business. These small silver coins date back to 1293AH (Hejira date) which is 1876 Gregorian date. Related denominations carry more fanciness in the devices, as you can see on this CoinQuest page, which also describes the dating system.
