Italy Gorizia Soldo, 1/2 Soldo, and 2 Soldi 1733 to 1802
Italy Gorizia Soldo, 1/2 Soldo, and 2 Soldi 1733 to 1802

These coins are from Gorizia, a city in northern Italy and closely associated with Austria during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. They use the 'soldo' denomination in scrollwork on one side and a crowned coat of arms, with lion, on the other. The crowned arms design changed a little in 1748, as shown in our secondary picture.

The catalogs are not kind to this coin. They show low values, although my guess is that the catalogs need updating. Try to find one of these coins to add to your Italian States collection. It is a difficult task. Here are our best estimates of catalog value for all dates in the series.
