Denmark 1 and 1/2 Skilling Rigsmont (Christian IX) 1867 to 1872
These are pretty cool coins. They contain the monogram of King Christian IX who ruled Denmark from 1863 to 1906. On the back the denomination, 1 or 1/2, appears in a circle pattern. They are made of bronze. In the monetary system of the day, 96 skilling rigsmont made one rigsdaler rigsmont, and 10 rigsdaler rigsmont made 1 d'or. The d'or was a gold coin.
There are coins which look similar, but have the monogram of King Frederik VII (1848 to 1863). This page applies only to the Christian IX coins. Both 1 and 1/2 skilling rigsmont coins command about the same collector value, as follows:
worn: $3 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $15
well preserved: $40
fully uncirculated: $85
All dates are worth about the same, except the 1871 skilling rigsmont which is more rare and worth about twice these values.

Requester description: 1867 Obverse: crowned monogram of Christian IX, wreath, date (1867). Reverse: ' * SKILLING * RIGSMØNT', large '1' in circle, many small horizontal lines in circle behind the numeral 1. Coin seems to be bronze.
