Germany Saxony 1, 1 1/2, and 2 Thaler 1601 to 1611
Germany Saxony 1, 1 1/2, and 2 Thaler 1601 to 1611

The old German State of Saxony was ruled by Christian II, Johann Georg I, and August jointly between 1591 and 1611. The silver thalers show Christian on the front and the other two on the back. There are variations in design and legend (especially ET ELEC). The catalogs show all these coins carrying approximately the same values, as listed below. With these old specimens, each coin stands on its own merits, so catalog values are very, very approximate.

CoinQuest thanks Leipziger M├╝nzhandlung und Auktion in Germany for use of their nice coin photo.
