Medal: US Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee 1887
I believe this is your coin, Camilla - or actually, it's a medal! They were produced in 1887 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's reign - her 'golden jubilee'.
Dozens of different medals were made, if not more. Your medal is one of the less common designs. Its values are higher than many others made on non-precious metal:
worn: $3 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $5
well preserved: $20
fully uncirculated: $45
Holed medals are a different story than holed coins. Some medals are produced with a hole in them. This one was not, however, and with a hole the value drops to perhaps one half of that quoted above.
CoinQuest thanks respected eBay dealer Cardboard Heroes for use of their image.
Remember to never clean your coins. This also holds true for medals. Any coin or medal with damage, be it a hole, evidence of cleaning, severe scratches, corrosion, or something else, will be worth much, much less than the catalog values quoted here.
Check out our 'Important Terminology' page on the top left in order to properly interpret what these catalog values mean.
