The mint marks on these coins are the crown for Copenhagen and the globe (or 'globus cruciger') which looks like a circle with a little cross on top for Altona. The mint marks on these coins are very small, and are found on the side with the large 'F VII' monogram, just below the empty space between the F and V, between the smallest leaves of the wreath.

Requester description: 1856 Side 1: 1856 on bottom center(#'s not separated). Large letter F decorated with horizontal lines that are close together, in the center of coin. Small Vll next to the F, and have same horizontal lines. The F 'wears' a fancy crown (top of coin). A laurel of oak leaves is set above the date, 1856, and surrounds the F Vll up to the crown. Both sides have a castle battlements design around the face-edge of the coin. Side 2: A very large number 1 inside of a circle in the center. The background of the circle and 'behind' the number 1, is close horizontal lines for decoration. The word SKILLING in capital letters follows the curve of the center circle on the top of the coin, as does the word RIGSMONT on the bottom. There are two 6-point stars, one on each side of the coin that separate the two words, SKILLING and RIGSMONT, that are positioned at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock. That's all. Hope you can help me. :) 1 Skilling Rigsmont
