Great Britain Token Norwich Two Penny 1811 to 1815

Even though this merchant's token does not have a date, numismatic (coin collector) scholars place it around 1812. You can read all about English merchant tokens in this article by the Chicago Coin Club [Click Here].

Robert Blake was a Norwich textile manufacturer specializing in cotton and bombazine (a type of fabric). He made this large twopenny token featuring the Norwich coat of arms and a weaver's shuttle.
