US Ku Klux Klan Token with Hooded Rider 1919 to 1933
US Ku Klux Klan Token with Hooded Rider 1919 to 1933

Well, I would not give you two cents for this token, but some people would pay substantial amounts for it. It is a brass token from the white supremacy group, the Ku Klux Klan. Sometimes you see these tokens in sterling silver, and sometimes you see them from states other than Pennsylvania, such as Michigan, Illinois, and Alabama.

Not all these tokens are genuine. Originals come from the early 1900s, but some later fakes carry similar designs and are made to look old.

The value of these items, assuming they are original vintage tokens, depends on who you can find to buy them. Sad to say, there are still plenty of white supremacists around, and there are also collectors of such tokens. These people might pay these types of catalog values.

worn: $20 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $35

There are many common people who would not give two cents for history they do not approve of. Fortunately, there are people who learn from history instead of trying to purge it. - D. James
Common or not, I would never buy one. - CoinQuest (Paul)
