Germany Bavaria 2 Kreuzer (1/2 Batzen) 1623 to 1676
The coin in our secondary picture (one side only) is the one that Cioccolatinho supplied. It is in very poor condition and the inscriptions are barely readable. This means that it carries basically no value. To be collectible, a coin must be completely readable and fully identifiable by the naked eye.
The coin in our primary picture (both sides) is a collectible coin. The inscriptions read MCPRVBDSRIAEE and SOLI DEO GLORIA, identifying the coin as a silver 2 kreuzer from the old German State of Bavaria.
Here is how the catalog lists values for these coins.
worn: $10 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $50
well preserved: $100
fully uncirculated: $150
The later date coins, with dates after 1659, carry the same SOLI DEO GLORIA inscription, but the letters on the other side are different. Values are about the same as those called out above. Use our Important Terminology page to properly interpret catalog values.
