Medal: US Columbus Day 1910
Medal: US Columbus Day 1910

These medals were issued in 1910 by the US state of Massachusetts. They come in a variety of sizes and compositions, which affect value. None of the medals are super-valuable, but some, especially the larger medals in good condition, can get up towards the $100 US dollar mark.

There is an interesting CoinTalk thread which speaks of an 80% silver medal, and numerous eBay listings for bronze medals. If your medal appears silver, be sure it is not silver-plated bronze.

The medal in the large picture below comes from a Goldberg auction and is a whopping 77 mm in diameter. The pattern is slightly different than the smaller medals. Goldberg's large medal would probably sell for about $100 retail.
