Germany Wurzburg 6 Kreuzer 1807 to 1809
Germany Wurzburg 6 Kreuzer 1807 to 1809

Würzburg is a larger city in lower central Germany, in the northern part of the Bavaria province. In 1803 it was made part of the Electorate of Bavaria, but during the course of Napoleonic wars, the city gained independence, and along with the surrounding areas the region became known as the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, ruled by Ferdinand III, also Grand Duke of Tuscany.

These silver 6 kreuzers were struck in only moderate amounts. Even though they didn't circulate for very long, they are hard to find today. The design remains mostly the same for all years, except for the crown being a bit smaller on the 1809 issues.
