Schwbisch Gmnd is a town in the eastern part of the German state of Baden-Wrttemberg. The town is the second largest in the Ostalb district and the whole East Wrttemberg region after Aalen. These 100 pfennig coins without a date were struck in Iron. The coins were issued to buy food from a society during the inflation time in Germans post World War I. Please see this page (click here) for our main page on German Notgeld.
The value of this notgeld is quite high ($50-$100 U.S. dollars in good condition) because it is a rare piece. The example in the picture comes from hogar34 (the requester) who was kind enough to send photos of his notgeld. Without hogar34, we would be in trouble because the piece is so scarce that we could not find a decent photo anywhere. Iron coins do not wear well, but hogar's coin is in really good shape. It is probably worth $100 to a notgeld collector.
CoinQuest thanks hogar34 for use of his coin photo.
