I have a coin that is exactly the same, except there is no date and of the ESTADOS the first S, the D, and the O are not shown. What does that mean in terms of coin value?
It sounds like you have a 'struck through grease' error coin. These are usually worth a little more than normal coins. Depending on the condition of your coin, you should be able to add $1 (worn) to $5 (well preserved) US dollars. See this page [Press Here] for an explanation and pictures. - CoinQuest (Paul)
100 pesos is worth more than a dollar. Take it to a currency exchange or save it for of you ever go to Mexico. When I was there the exchange rate was 2 pesos to the dollar.
Mexico devalued its currency in the early 1990s. One thousand pesos became one peso. Since this coin comes before the devaluation, it is actually 0.1 pesos. These coins are obsolete and only have value as collectibles. Here is an example of one that sold on eBay [Press Here] for 49 US cents. - CoinQuest (Paul)
I have the same coin but it has a error. The year date reads 199. Whats it worth?
Depends on the condition of the coin. An error like this is interesting but doesn't raise the value of the coin by a tremendous amount. A collector might pay a few extra dollars to own it. - CoinQuest (Todd)
I have one of these dated 1985. The coin looks like it was stamped off-center of the coin to the right about 1/4 inch.
Off-center coins are fun. Typically these are more desirable the further off-center they are, especially when the date is still visible. - CoinQuest (Todd)
