Greece 20 Drachmai (Athena) 1973
That is the goddess Athena on the front of this neat coin. She was the Greek virgin goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts and literature. She was the daughter of Zeus; her birth is unique in that she did not have a mother. Instead, she sprang full grown and clad in armour from Zeus' forehead. (Ouch!)
On the back is the mythical Phoenix rising from ashes.

Requester description: Obverse: A bird with spread wings, looking strait up. There is a plant at the base of the bird. Reverse: It's a soldier with a horse mane spartan helmets sitting on his head. He isn't wearing the helmet, it's just resting atop his head. There seems to be a pattern on the upper part of the helmet, but I can't distinguish it.
