Germany (Lubeck) 4, 8, 16, and 32 Schilling 1620 to 1654

These are grand coins from the old German State of Lubeck. That's St John of the Bible holding the Lamb (Jesus) on the front. The denomination appears in the orb on the breast of the double-headed eagle:

4 SCHILLINGS: 1/8 thaler, MON(E) NO LVBECE, 1622 to 1646
8 SCHILLINGS: 1/4 thaler, MO(N)(E) N(O)(V)(A) LVBECKEN(S), 1620 to 1646
16 SCHILLINGS: 1/2 thaler, MON(E) NO(VA) LVBEC(E)(N)(S), 1620 to 1654
32 SCHILLINGS: thaler, MONE NOV(A) LVBECEN(S)(I)(S), 1620 to 1650

Coins dated after 1637 have FERDINAND III instead of FERDINAND II.

The coin in our picture is an 8 schilling which sold for 230 euros (about $250 US dollars) by Westfalische Auktions gesellschaft in Arnsberg, Germany during a 2012 auction. CoinQuest thanks Westfalische for use of their coin photo.
