Spain has used many different monetary denominations throughout its history. Jenn's example is 5 one-hundredths (centimos) of an escudo. These were minted in copper, and higher denominations (10, 20, and 4 centimos de escudo) were minted in silver.

Requester description: 1868 Front side: Picture of a woman with hair pulled back. 1868 in the center bottom. Around the coin it says: ISABELL II POR LA GRACIA DE DIOS Y LA CONST Back side: Looks like a coat of arms with a crown on top. There could be a mint mark below the coat of arms that I think says CM or OM The bottom says: 5 CENTIMOS DE ESCUDO The tope says: REINA DE LAS ESPANAS REPLY - The coins that you recommended have different text on the front than my coin does.
