Ireland 50 Pence 1970 to Date

Did I get this right, VladKyle? You have a modern 50 pence coin from Ireland. Check the date. Your coin is worth face value. Use to do exchange rate calculations.

No strictly Irish coins were issued between 1813 and 1928, so an 1861 coin with the celtic harp is unlikely. What is much more probable is a simple mis-read of the date. Turn the coin one way, it's an 1981; the other way it's 1861. It is just one of those things.

Hi I've got an Irish 50p coin but it is not like this one the same shape but it's from 1988 with the Dublin crest on it and it say's 'Át Cliat 1000 Dublin' Just looking for some details on the coin - Sarah
We accept requests for new coins when there are less than three requests pending. When the site frees up, please submit your request at that time. Modern coins (post 1948) are always worth very little unless they are made of gold or silver. No circulating modern coin is made of gold or silver, only special coins made for collectors are made of gold and silver. The Cliat 1000 Dublin inscription will require research. - CoinQuest (Paul)
