Questions: Value? Genuine?

I found this in China years ago and am wondering if it's real and what it might be worth.

Tael or half tael. See the [coinquest.com] link under web reference for description and approximate values. Genuine taels weigh 37.4 grams.

The half tael in our picture above sold for $1900 US dollars by Stacks Bowers Ponterio.

Your coin is probably a counterfeit. The pattern is very mushy. Mushiness does not come from wear, it comes from low-quality manufacturing, which is common to fake coins. Compare it to the genuine coin pictured.
