The link to the left is to a page that has more detail about your coin.

These coins are very often counterfeited, so there is a good chance that your one may be a fake.

Though I am not an expert in authenticating coins, there may be a suspicious issue with your coin. Instinctively, the surface of the coin just doesn't look like silver, but rather a common metal, which if true, would make your coin a fake.

Still, it be best to wait for a second opinion on your coin first, as this is only my opinion of the matter.

I agree with Joshua. The surfaces look un-natural. The color is too even, and the patterns and inscriptions are mushy, not sharp.

Just appears nice and clean compared to one that i viewed online. If it is silver a magnet would not stick? magnet does not stick to this one.

Hi Roy,

Silver is not magnetic, and genuine coins are made of silver. However, crooks long ago stopped making 'silver' counterfeits out of magnetic steel. The magnet test is not reliable.

Click to the [coinquest.com] link under Web Reference to the left. At the bottom of the page there is a side-by-side comparison of a real and a fake coin.

Genuine coins weigh 26.7 grams. Check the weight. A jeweler's scale is usually necessary.

The definitive way to authenticate your coin is to send it to a professional authenticator at PCGS, NGC, ICG, or ANACS (look them up on the Internet). These pros will determine if your coin is real or fake, but they will charge for their service.

Hi Paul, thanks for the direction. I guess looking at the coin in person helps to see just how detailed the dragon really is. Non magnetic and just did the cold test on it,gets cold very quick, and warms up quickly,i will take your advice and seek the expert. There is a major coin shop close by. If a fake much interest in a good copy? Thanks again and i will post my results.
