Hello there your 25 centavos second republic Mexicana coin is for sure 1884 the condition would be between Very good and fine condition the dates reads 4 over 6 that looks like a good piece for the (foreign coin error collection) I don't have a idea on value on what is worth I think its a great catch, you have to see on what the others have to comment or have to say about it thank you for showing it and a great find.

[ Wrong link formally posted here, apologies. ]

My guess, the date on your coin is 1884.

You supplied the wrong web reference, Joshua. The correct one, with a radiant cap design, is shown under Web Reference to the left.

These coins are valuable even in heavily worn condition. Layemlo's coin is a $10 US dollar item. It is an 1884Zs, from the mint in Zacatecas. I checked the catalogs and I do not see an 1884/6 variety, but something is definitely going on with the date of Layemlo's coin. I doubt it would have much effect on value.

Lawson, do you have a published reference for an 1884/6?

My apologies, I have made an error in my link above.

This link to the left should be correct, as it has the radiant cap design.
