Malaysia Straits Settlements 1/4, 1/2, and 1 Cent 1872 to 1916

Malaysia Straits Settlements 1/4, 1/2, and 1 Cent 1872 to 1916

These round copper coins come in three denominations: 1/4, 1/2, and 1 cent, and with three different British monarchs: Victoria, Edward, and George. Their patterns are all very similar, and so are their values.

Straits Settlements was a British crown colony on the Malay Peninsula of Asia. It was formed in 1828 by combining Singapore, Penang, and Malacca.

The listings below call out approximate catalog values for these coins. As always, the condition plays a big role in value. The earlier dates command higher value than the later dates. Collectors always seek out nice looking examples for their collections, and this is what drives the market. Remember that catalog values are inflated values. Actual values will be less. Please view our Terminology page to understand the relationship between catalog value and actual buy and sell values.
