China (Guangdong) Five Goats (Fakes are possible) 1936

The 'five goat coin' from Guangdong province is somewhat a mystery. The only reference we can find is at the comprehensive PrimalTrek web site [PRESS HERE]. Presumably, the coin is rare, and there are fakes readily available, as shown in our secondary picture (lower right).

The PrimalTrek site says that genuine coins sell for $20000 US dollars. This may be true, but we have not been able to verify this amount.

CoinQuest does not publish coin value estimates without checking recent auction results. Prices realized at coin auctions are the most reliable method for estimating value. Our professional coin database of world coins has over 2.3 million auction results, but not one of them is for the Guangdong 'five goat' coin, so we are not really sure what this coin is worth.

The coin submitted by our requester 01 appears to be a fake.
