10 reis: 20 mm diameter
20 reis: 25 mm diameter
40 reis: 30 mm diameter
The catalog values are approximately equivalent for all coins, as follows:
10, 20, AND 40 REIS (all dates, except below):
worn: $2
average circulated: $6
well preserved: $10
fully uncirculated: $18
As with almost all coin series, there are exceptions, as listed below.
- 10 reis dated 1870 are less common in high grades, multiply the above values by 3 for fully uncirculated coins.
- 20 reis dated 1870 are slightly uncommon, multiply the above values by 2, and for fully uncirculated coins multiply by 3.
- 40 reis coins are uncommon in high grades, multiply the above values by 3 for well preserved coins, and by 8 for fully uncirculated coins.
- 40 reis dated 1876 catalog for $8 in average circulated but $200 in fully uncirculated.
