What a neat coin! These were minted during the time of Philip V (Felipe V 1700-1746) and show the denomination as 1, 2, or 4 maravedis in Arabic or Roman numerals on the side with the crowned shield.
Most of these old coins are in tough shape. Many of them are so worn or damaged you can barely read the inscriptions. If you have a coin with legible inscriptions and decent devices (lion, shield, crown), then the numismatic (coin collector) value really picks up.
