Nice coin. Sachsen is the old German State of Saxony which, like most German States, continued to mint their own coinage after the German Empire congealed in 1871.
Saxony minted both 2 and 5 mark coins with the same pattern. Here are some statistics:
2 (ZWEI) MARKS: 28 mm diameter, 0.321 troy ounces silver
5 (FUNF) MARKS: 38 mm diameter, 0.804 troy ounces silver
The zwei mark coin in the picture is in great shape. It is a well preserved from Westfalische Auktions Gesellschaft. More wear means less value. Scracthes, stains, cleaning, and other damage mean *much* less value. CoinQuest thanks Westfalische for use of their great coin picture.
NEVER CLEAN A COIN. CLEANING RUINS VALUE.
Here are some approximate catalog values for these coins:
2 ZWEI MARK BEFORE 1890

2 mark coins dated 1879, 1880, and 1883 are more rare, double these values

Finally, there are 1902E coins, both 2 and 5 marks, which are fairly common. They have small inscriptions below the king's portrait and commemorate his death that year (see image to the left).
