Algeria is the large country in Northern Africa, just across the Mediterranean Sea south of France. It was under French governing until 1962.
The 20, 50, and 100 franc coins minted by France between 1949 and 1956 are made of copper-nickel. As such they are modern coins minted in non-precious metal and therefore carry low value. Some typical catalog values that apply to all three denominations are:
worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $2
well preserved: $7
fully uncirculated: $10
100 francs dated 1952 are slightly less common and catalog at $4 average circulated, $25 fully uncirculated
