The Island of Jersey is where those famous milk cows come from. It is located 12 miles off the coast of France in the English Channel. A British dependency, the current king or queen appears on Jersey coinage. The coin shown is from 1945 and has George VI. Earlier coins have George V and later coins have Elizabeth II. All these coins are made of bronze and have the shield with three lions on the reverse side.
