Every school child in Canada got one of these spiffy medals when Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953. There are plenty of them to go around, and that keeps the price low.

Do you see the difference between the two medals in our two pictures? The medal in our main picture, showing both front and back, looks much nicer than the medal in our secondary picture. The main picture is a high relief strike and the secondary picture is a low relief strike. The high relief makes the medal look nicer, but the low relief is much more economical to produce. The school kids got the low relief. Dignitaries got the high relief. Get the picture?
