King Christian X ruled Denmark from 1912 to 1947. Starting in 1942, krone coinage bears his image. These coins are made in aluminum bronze with catalog values roughly as follows:
worn: $3 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $5
well preserved: $10
fully uncirculated: $60
These values apply to all dates except two. The 1943 coin is quite rare, cataloging around $200 in well preserved condition. The 1947 date is quite common, cataloging around $5 in well preserved condition.
When converting these inflated catalog values to actual buy and sell values, apply the concepts outlined on our Terminology page.
PS: Penelope, the spelling of Denmark on the coin is correct. The catalog says that oats, not a flower, crosses the wheat, although it looks like lily of the valley to me!
