Russia minted poltinas (half roubles), roubles, and 2 roubles in gold starting in 1756. This page applies to those coins with the double-headed eagle on the reverse; 5 and 10 gold roubles have a different pattern on the reverse side. They are valuable coins.
The beautiful example in our picture comes from Coins.ee Numismaatika where it sold at auction for 1210 euros, about $1600 US dollars. This is a good price for such a nice coin.
