King Maximilian II (Emanuel) ruled the old German State of Bavaria between 1679 and 1726. He minted many different types of coins including these with his curly-haired portrait and abbreviation MAX EM H I B C.
The coin in our picture is a 3 kreuzer, also called a groschen, as indicated by the legend (grosch) and the numeral '3' in parenthesis at the date. It is in great condition and comes from a respected dealer in world coins, Beast Coins in New Berlin, Wisconsin, USA.
The listings below give approximate catalog values for these coins. You will have to apply the concepts on our Important Terminology page to convert catalog values to actual buy and sell values. The most important factor is that catalog values apply only to coins that do not have problems, such as scratches, stains, cleanings, nicks, gouges, and the like. All dates are worth roughly the same value.
