This is a spiffy little coin. It comes from Iceland in the eyrir denomination. The plural of eyrir is aurar, so two eyrir coins make one 2 aurar coin.
1942 is the most common date for these coins, and coins dated after 1942 are worth a few US dollars when in fully uncirculated condition. They are worth less than $1 US dollar when circulated. Before 1940 these coins pick up a little numismatic (coin collector value):
1 EYRIR DATED 1926 TO 1939
worn: $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $3
well preserved: $5
fully uncirculated: $25
