The loosely federated provinces of Canada unified into a single nation back in 1867. One hundred years later, in 1967, there were all sorts of celebrations and commemorations of the Canadian Confederation. This is one such medal. They were made by the millions and distributed freely.
Collectors will sometimes buy these medals for their collections. The copper ones sell for a few US dollars each. If you can find one in fully uncirculated condition, a copper medal might bring $10.
But some medals were made in silver as well. These are worth more, about $20 or so retail price for circulated medals.
The medal in our second picture is a silver one that has taken on a spiffy rainbow tone over the years. Some collectors really enjoy toned coins, and this specimen was sold on eBay for $31.
