India Hyderabad 1 Pai, 2 Pai, and Half Anna 1904 to 1935
Mushmeek sent us this picture of his Islamic half anna coin from the Indian Princely State of Hyderabad. It is in nice shape (average circulated) and is worth a small sum as a collectible.
These coins all bear essentially the same pattern but come in different denominations determined by their sizes:
1 PAI: 16 mm diameter
2 PAI: 20 mm diameter
1/2 ANNA: 24 mm diameter
The catalogs are not kind to these coins. They are worth more than current catalogs indicate. Our catalog values better reflect actual coin sales, but, as always are very approximate (see our Important Terminology page). The denomination affects value very little.
