The country is called Belize today, but since 1825 it was called British Honduras, located just to the north of Honduras in Central America.
As a British Colony the coins bore the likeness of the reigning monarch, from Victoria to Edward VII to George V to George VI and finally Elizabeth II. British Honduras became Belize in 1973.
