James, we are happy to report that your religious token actually as a fair bit of value to it.
The symbols on the token (the all-seeing eye, swastika, lock-and-key, four-leaf clover, elephant, horseshoe, rabbit's foot and wishbone) are all part of Hindu religious symbolism. The 'wizard' on the token is a Swami, a yoga who has been indoctrinated into the ideas of Adi Shankara, an 8th century Hindu philosopher.
The token in our image is from eBay seller katzbuddy, and it's in about average circulated condition. It has no problems like cleanings or scratches, and though circulated, it has an attractive eye appeal. katzbuddy's token was sold for $20.50 USD. This would correspond to a catalog value of approximately $25 to $30. James' token would have a similar value.
A worn token with issues will be worth much less, say three to five dollars, while a great-looking token with no wear from circulation will be worth much more, perhaps up to $70.
CoinQuest thanks katzbuddy for use of the image. It is a nice one!
These are tentative catalog values. Refer to our 'Important Terminology' page in order to properly interpret these catalog values.
