Italy made all sorts of neat coins back in the early 1900s. This one has Vittorio Emanuele (they all do) and a neat eagle standing on a fasces. A fasces is an axe with a bundle of rods and is a symbol of power and strength. The US issued a dime (the so-called Mercury dime) with a fasces on the back.
