Germany Fulda Notgeld 5 and 10 Pfennig 1918 and 1919
Emergency money, or notgeld in Germany, took the place of normal government issues during coin shortages. Times leading up to and during World War I saw the creation of much notgeld, and this piece is one from the city of Fulda in the German State of Hessen.

Very few of these particular coins survive. Made of zinc, they do not last long. The ones you see today are generally in horrible condition. If you can find the coin in good shape, it is worth substantially more than the barely readable coins in most collections. Here are some typical values, but actual values depend mostly on the condition of the piece. A nice looking, well preserved example can bring double these amounts.
