Spain Barcelona Quartos and Pesetas Coinage 1808 to 1814

The province and city of Barcelona in northeast Spain issued its own coinage under Kings Joseph Napoleon and Ferdinand VII between 1808 and 1833. This page applies to those coins with the characteristic diamond-shaped seal still used today. They come in several denominations:

copper: 1/2, 1, 2, and 4 quartos
silver: 1, 2 1/2, and 5 pesetas
gold: 20 pesetas
