That's a cool-looking coin, isn't it, Brian? Trinidad and Tobago are large islands off the coast of Venezuela in northern South America. They were under British rule until 1976. Their coinage bears a spiffy coat of arms supported by two neat birds: a scarlet ibis on the left, and a cocrico (or rufous-vented chachalaca) on the right.
All circulating coins from Trinidad and Tobago are modern and made of non-precious metals like bronze and copper-nickel. As such, they are worth face value. Collectors are usually willing to pay a few US dollars for nice-looking specimens.
