Small denomination coins of Paraguay have scalloped edges in 1953. The also use a seated lion with a liberty cap on a pole. They are made of aluminum-bronze (not gold) and are worth very little, well less than $1 US dollar for circulated coins. A collector might pay a few dollars for a fully uncirculated specimen.
