Japan 10 Sen 1940 to 1943

Japan 10 Sen 1940 to 1943

These low-denomination aluminum coins from Japan are worth very little, a few US dollars but only when fully uncirculated (like our picture). Circulated coins are worth well less than $1.

If you have a jeweler's scale and if you are diligent to search many coins, you may find a year 18 (1943, like our pictures) coin which weighs 1.2 grams. if you do, it is more valuable. Most 1943 coins weigh 1.0 gram, and they are not valuable. You need an accurate scale to be able to discern the 0.2 gram difference.
