Romania 1 Leu 1938 to 1941

Romania 1 Leu 1938 to 1941

These are great looking coins! The design is delightfully simplistic, and quite well executed. The color is pleasing, as they were struck in nickel-brass - a golden colored alloy. Unfortunately, they were minted in the tens of millions, and catalog values remain very low today, as listed below:

worn: less than $1 US dollar approximate catalog value
average circulated: $1
well preserved: $2
fully uncirculated: $5

With absolutely no wear and great toning, the catalog value increases to around $10. With damage such as deep scratches or ugly stains, the value drops to zero. Refer to our Important Terminology page found at the top left to convert these catalog values into actual buying and selling values.
