This is quite a complicated issue of coins with plenty of collector appeal! The catalog values for these coins are all over the place, and there is a good reason for that. They were struck at three different mints, and each mint struck the coin with and without a dot after the date. That's six different varieties for collectors to complete their series.
ALL MINTS, *WITHOUT* DOT AFTER DATE:
worn: $10 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $30
well preserved: $40
fully uncirculated: $60
COINS *WITH* DOT AFTER DATE:
worn: $15
average circulated: $35
well preserved: $60
fully uncirculated: $80
COINS WITH DOT AFTER DATE *AND* 'S' ON QUEEN'S NECK:
worn: $20
average circulated: $50
well preserved: $80
fully uncirculated: $150
Damaged coins will be worth only a few dollars at most. See our Important Terminology page at the top left for information on how to properly interpret these catalog values.
