Maria Theresa and Franz I were co-regents of Austria between 1745 and 1765. This copper kreuzer bears Franz's image and inscription. For similar coins with Maria Theresa, click to this page [Click Here].
For coins like the one in our image, with Franz, catalog values run like this:
worn: $5 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $20
well preserved: $50
fully uncirculated: $100
Coins dated 1749 are quite rare. They carry a catalog value of $220 in average circulated condition. Likewise, the 1760P coin catalogs at $80 in average circulated.
You hardly ever see these coins in uncirculated condition, or anything close to it. The example in our picture comes from respected eBay seller petrus.fabricius in Hungary, and it is in great shape. Petrus' coin sold for $30 in a 2014 eBay auction.
CoinQuest thanks petrus.fabricius for use of the coin image. It's a nice one.
