This page covers the beautiful 3 kreuzer coins from Austria between 1765 and 1848. The common feature for coins on this page is the double-headed eagle with a large '3' inside an oval. Various rules and various compositions were used, and inscriptions vary, but the double-headed eagle with a big '3' is found on all of them. Some are made of silver, others of billon (a low-grade silver alloy), and still others of copper.
We give approximate catalog values that cover all dates, except as noted. If you have a nice-looking example, consider getting a coin catalog (at the library, perhaps) and look up your specific date and condition.
