These large silver coins were minted in Venezuela between 1980 and 1986. They are worth their weight in silver. The mintage of some coins was artificially restricted to raise value, and this lead to counterfeiting certain dates. They come in regular issues and proof issues. Counterfeits are seen mostly in proofs dated 1980, 1981 (Bello), and 1986 (Vargas).
Counterfeits aside, compute the value of these coins based on their silver content:
1980 (Bolivar): 0.637 troy ounces silver
1981 (Bello): 0.725 ounces silver
1983 (building and bookshelf): 0.897 ounces
1986 (Vargas): 0.897 ounces
Look up the price of silver on kitco.com and multiply by the silver content to get value.
