What a gorgeous medal. The one pictured sold for 190 Australian dollars (about $175 US dollars) in a 2008 auction by Noble Numismatics in Australia. The Noble piece is in excellent condition.
Patrick Francis Moran (1830 to 1911) was the third Roman Catholic Archbishop of Sydney and first Australian cardinal. This medal celebrates his golden anniversary as a Catholic priest.
The pictured medal is bronze. Silver and gold issues may exist, but I have not been able to find references to them. Silver medals would be worth somewhat more than bronze medals, and gold medals would be worth much more.
worn: $50 US dollars approximate catalog value
average circulated: $75
well preserved: $120
fully uncirculated: $240
CoinQuest thanks Noble Numismatics for use of their photo. It is a beautiful specimen.
